My question is, if i activate only a Frozen Throne key (not the Battlechest or Reign of Chaos, only the expansion), will i still be granted the Reforged Classic Mode? That’s Blizzard’s draconic Battle.net DRM at work. They’ll only let you play Reforged if you’ve logged in at least once every 30 days. Honestly, you’re better off looking for a pre-Reforged copy of the game and playing that instead.
Uninstall Reforged, find an offline installer for the original Warcraft 3, install that, put in your CD key, update to 1.29 1.27b (It's reported that 1.28 and up blocks your access to online, not sure about LAN). Hi, I wanted to play WC3: FT after some time and went to the Blizzard download page. I knew that you can download official Warcraft 3 for free from that page. After downloading, I got promoted to the Launcher and it began installing "Warcraft 3 reforged". Note that I bought neither the old Warcraft 3 nor the reforged version.
Right now the option to switch between Reign and the Frozen Throne went away with reforged and currently, players will need to play through the campaign to unlock additional chapters. That said, there are ways to get around unlocking chapters out of order, but it would require the use of some of the in-game cheat codes.
