The minimalist style of 7 is both a good thing and a bad thing, IMO. It absolutely helps with conveying a horrific, oppressive atmosphere, but it also doesn't give a ton to latch onto. And while it has a lot of the elements, it doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game. It feels like Rob Zombie's Resident Evil, if that makes any sense.

I'm watching a couple video's on it now and something about the faces just look very stiff and fake. The way the mouths sync with speech is incredibly off and the actual textures just look very muddy.
Now Resi 4 is a very very good game, but let's be there too. Resi 4 isn't even as good as Resi 5. Resi 5 basically is the exact game as #4, but in #5, you have a partner and you have better guns, better melee, better story, superior mercenaries mode, and a nice Nightmare mode for survival horror fans.
